What is WorldCat?

What is WorldCat?

WorldCat is a catalog that itemizes the collections of ~72,000 libraries in 170 countries and territories that participate in the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) global network.  The subscribing members (including Pacific University) collectively maintain the WorldCat database.  Libraries share resources identified in WorldCat via the interlibrary loan (ILLiad) service.

When to use WorldCat

Use WorldCat if you cannot find what you need after using Pacific's catalog or Lane's catalog.

How does WorldCat/ILL work?

  1. Physical items ordered via WorldCat, via ILLiad, will be mailed to the address you used when you created your ILLiad account.
  2. Return the physical resources, using the FedEx label (provided).
  3. .pdf copies of articles will be uploaded to your ILLiad ccount -- you will receive an e-mail once the .pdf article has been posted.
