Test Presentation General Components

  • Name of the test and the authors
  • The year the original was published, as well as the latest revision
  • The population the test was designed for (including the age range of the test)
  • The main purpose(s) of the test:  what type of results does the test provide?
  • Reliability and validity data
  • Standardization procedures
  • Basic administration information; are there any special administration tips you can provide to your fellow students?
  • Average length of time to administer
  • Where to purchase the test and how much it costs
  • Cultural Considerations
  • References

Questions to answer during your presentation

  1. Evaluate the way that the test was constructed and standardized.  What is your professional opinion as to the quality of the test? How well does the test construction and standardization address issues of diversity?
  2. From a resources perspective, such as the time to administer the test, the cost of the test, etc.  What is your evaluation of the test’s worth/utility?
  3. What are some of the things that a new user should be aware of when using these tests?
  4. Are there particular conditions under which each of the tests has specific utility?
