Accessing Electronic Resources Using Article Galaxy Scholar

A guide to on-demand article delivery at Pacific University

How to Use Article Galaxy Scholar to Access Resources

This page includes step-by-step guidance on getting access to an article using Article Galaxy Scholar (AGS).

At the bottom of the page, find a how-to video that walks you through the AGS process.

If you have any questions about submitting a request using AGS, please read the FAQ page under the "Additional Information" tab in this guide or reach out to the library directly.

How to get an article through AGS

1. Search for article in library search or in a database (for the best chance of success, use the full title of the article)

2. Select the article to get to the record of the item and find out your access options

Note:  This process looks a little different if you are searching in a database or in Google Scholar. To submit an AGS request for an article in a database, you'll need to select the access link option (see examples below) that will direct you to the library search, where you can get the article if we have access, or you'll submit your AGS or ILL request.

3. Once you are on the item record in the library online search, you will see your access options. If the item is not available in our holdings, under “How to get it” select the "Get Article Now" link (if the "Get Article Now" option is not available, that means the article is not available through this service, and you can place an ILL request)

4. You will be prompted to sign in with your PacificU user name and password.

5. Once you've signed in, you'll start the AGS request process.  First, enter your PacificU email

6. Choose the “Request PDF” button

7. Click “Open PDF” for instant access and to download the pdf

Get your article

  • Once you select the "Open PDF" button, you should download and save the PDF copy of the article before closing the page. Most articles will be available for immediate download in your browser, but occasionally they may be accessed only via the email sent directly to you.
  • In either case, you will always receive an email containing a link to the download page, which will be active for 30 days. You can use that page to download the PDF up to 5 times.
  • We recommend you download the PDF in order to ensure you have full access to the article past the expiration point.
