Common search strategies

These common search strategies can help you focus your search.

Keywords are typically nouns you enter into the search box; for example, homeless poverty United States

Phrase searching allows you narrow your results -- which are more relevant to your topic; for example, "United States"

Truncation replaces a word ending with an * to expand your results; for example: cyberbull* will return cyberbullying, cyberbullies, cyberbullied, or cyberbully.
