SCHOLARSHIP AS CONVERSATION

Google Scholar frames the sharing of research as, "Stand on the shoulders of giants."  

Scholars research, discuss, debate, and challenge ideas, positions ... often over time.  Those conversations occur in a multitude of ways and formats.  A common method is publishing articles in peer-reviewed, scholarly journals.  Those articles will have extensive bibliographies (the author also needed to do research on the topic!).  Those bibliographies will lead you to further research/information that may be valuable for your research.
