Video Subscriptions

The subscription access model is different from individual streaming video acquisition in which the library licenses titles one at a time.

The difference is that subscription titles are added and removed from the collection by the vendor -- the library has no control over these decisions. In contrast, the the library has direct control over acquisition and renewal of single title acquisitions.

Please notify us at librarycms@pacificu.edu if there is a video in our catalog that you want to assign to a class. This way, we can let you know what kind of access is available through the library and work to ensure stable/ongoing access as needed.

Kanopy BASE

Pacific University Libraries subscribes to Kanopy BASE (Bundled Academic Subscription for Education), a product that provides access to over 8,000 streaming video titles. These include academic titles and series, documentaries, and some feature films.

This access model is different from individual streaming videos that the library licenses directly. KanopyBASE titles are selected for the collection and removed at the discretion of the vendor.

Please notify us at librarycms@pacificu.edu if there is a video in our catalog that you want to assign to a class. This way, we can let you know what kind of access is available through the library and help ensure student access if possible.

Kanopy BASE titles can be found by searching in the library catalog, or in Pacific University's Kanopy BASE portal

We recommend using the library catalog's permalink option if you want to provide access to a specific video.
